Afua joined the University of Ghana in June 2007 as an Assistant Registrar at the then School of Research and Graduate Studies (SRGS). She graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Planning and obtained an MBA (Finance) from the University of Ghana. At the SRGS she was responsible for the research administration schedule and successfully serviced the Research Committee until its functions were absorbed by ORID after its establishment. Currently, she works on the research administration schedule and leads activities of the embryonic research services unit of ORID. Major responsibilities include grants management for UG research grants, organising calls for proposals for UG research grants, coordinating UG main campus' TALIF projects, organising research training workshops for faculty members, and is responsible for the monthly compilation on research funding opportunities titled "Research Opportunities Alert!" She also services the Management Board of ORID and is project manager directly assisting the Project Director to implement UG's Carnegie Corporation funded project titled: "Next Generation of Academics in Africa: Enhancing UGs Capacity to Deliver Post-graduate Training and Research". Afua worked as a transportation planning consultant before joining the University of Ghana. She can be reached at:
